Marionette Line Filler

Overview

Marionette lines, the vertical wrinkles that extend from the corners of the mouth down to the chin, can create a drooping or aged appearance, even when your face is at rest. As we age, these lines become more pronounced due to the natural loss of skin elasticity and volume, often contributing to a sad or tired expression. Fortunately, marionette line fillers offer a non-surgical solution to smooth and soften these lines, restoring a more youthful and uplifted look.

Candidates

Ideal candidates are individuals who have mild to moderate marionette lines. Individuals with very deep folds and severe drooping of tissue typically are not good candidates for this treatment.
We serve Los Angeles, West Hollywood, Santa Monica, and Pacific Palisades, as well as provide accommodations for out-of-town patients.

How to Prepare

To minimize the risk of bruising, we recommend avoiding medications and supplements that thin your blood. Always consult with your prescribing physician before discontinuing any medications. Plan your filler treatment at a time when swelling and potential bruising won’t interfere with your schedule.

FAQ

What are some of the most common side effects associated with marionette line fillers?
Side effects from marionette line fillers are generally mild and temporary. Common side effects include slight redness, swelling, bruising, or tenderness at the injection sites. These effects usually resolve within a few days. In rare cases, more significant side effects like lumps, unevenness, vascular occlusion, or allergic reactions can occur, but these risks are minimized when the procedure is performed by an experienced provider.
Can marionette line fillers be combined with other treatments?
Yes, marionette line fillers can be combined with other cosmetic treatments to enhance overall facial rejuvenation. Often times, filler treatment is also performed at the smile lines (nasolabial folds) and chin. Also, some patients benefit to have Botox treatment of the DAO and chin muscles to help relax the muscles adjacent to the marionette region.
