Smile Line Filler
Overview
Nasolabial fold fillers have become an increasingly popular solution for those looking to soften the appearance of the deep lines that run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth. Often referred to as "smile lines" or "laugh lines," these folds are a natural part of aging, but they can become more pronounced over time, leading to a tired or aged appearance. Fortunately, with the use of dermal fillers, these lines can be effectively smoothed out, restoring a more youthful and refreshed look.
Type of Filler Used at the Smile Lines
We use hyaluronic acid based fillers for treating the smile lines. We typically use Restylane Defyne for mild lines, RHA-3 for moderate lines, and Juvederm Ultra Plus for severe lines. It is not unusually to use a combination of different thickness fillers to target various depths of the tissue.
Goal of Smile Line Filler
The aim is to gently soften the smile lines, not to erase them entirely. Addressing these lines directly can yield significant and natural-looking results, but it’s essential to approach the treatment conservatively, using the right technique and filler.
FAQ
How to Prepare
To minimize the risk of bruising, we recommend avoiding medications and supplements that thin your
blood. Always consult with your prescribing physician before discontinuing any medications. Plan your filler
treatment at a time when swelling and potential bruising won't interfere with your schedule.
Does it hurt?
Nasolabial fold filler treatments are generally well-tolerated, with most patients experiencing minimal discomfort.
Is there downtime?
Nasolabial fold filler treatments typically involve little to no downtime, making them a convenient option for those with busy schedules. After the procedure, you might experience some mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection sites, but these side effects are usually minor and subside within a few days. Most patients can return to their normal activities immediately after the treatment, though it's advisable to avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat, or massaging the treated area for the first 24 to 48 hours to allow the filler to settle properly. In most cases, any visible signs of the treatment can be easily covered with makeup, allowing you to resume your daily routine with minimal disruption. There is the possibility of severe bruising and swelling, but this is infrequent for our patients.
